"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"
Leslie first started doing yoga about ten years ago out of sheer curiosity. Although she didn’t really expect to like it, (thinking staying in shape was all about hard work and sweat), she was immediately surprised by not only how physically challenging yoga is, but how the tranquil the mind and body feels long after a class is over. A week-long blissful yoga retreat in 2004 convinced her that yoga was her path, she followed her retreat teacher to Phoenix and began a 200-hour yoga teacher training at her Anusara yoga studio. While she has studied most styles of yoga, Leslie's favorites are still Vinyasa and Anusara, and she blends the two in her teaching style. As a teacher, Leslie's goals are for students to be safe and free of injury, to be both physically challenged and mentally equanimous, to have fun, and to leave the class feeling a sense of tranquility and lightness which stays with them throughout the day.
Leslie has been a dedicated yoga teacher for the past four years, but is also a life-long yoga student. She grew up in San Diego and has lived in the Seattle area since 2007. Her “other” job is an accountant for a real estate developer downtown and she spends her free time hiking, dancing, and listening to live music – or anything that brings joy.
