Student Info
Getting startedArrive at least five minutes before class starts to allow time to set up your practice space. If you are a new student, arrive ten minutes early to complete a new member registration form and receive a tour of the studio. Visit class descriptions for more information regarding class styles and levels.
Signing in
Sign in at the front desk before every class you take. Make sure your handwriting is legible.
Arriving late
We prefer you not arrive late to class. It is a distraction for the other students as well as the teacher. We understand that, on occasion, situations out of your control might happen. If you do arrive late, please wait outside the practice room until after opening meditation and then enter through the curtain. Please enter and roll out your mat as quietly as possible.
Class etiquette
Turn off cell phones and remove shoes before entering the practice room. If you are new to the studio or to a particular teacher, please introduce yourself and tell the teacher about any injuries or limitations.
Respect for the studio and other students
We encourage you to bring your own mat for sanitary reasons. If you use a studio mat, use the mat spray provided to clean the mat after class. If you tend to sweat, bring a towel, as towels are not provided. Please refrain from wearing heavy lotions or perfumes, which only intensify with heat or sweat. Put away props neatly by folding blankets and mats, stacking blocks and tying straps.
What should I bring?
Laughing Buddha provides props including straps, blocks, bolsters and blankets. Many practitioners bring a water bottle and small towel. There are no fees for using studio props.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable exercise clothing that is not too baggy. We practice in bare feet.
Is there a place to change and store my belongings?
Yes. There are bathrooms and a back room to store your belongings.
How much does it cost?
The first class is at no charge to every new student. We are pleased to offer a variety of passes to fit your budget and frequency of attendance. See pricing for more details.
What is a typical Laughing Buddha Yoga class like?
No two Laughing Buddha classes are alike. Each teacher brings a unique background to his or her classes. In general, classes begin with a short meditation practice. The teacher will then guide you through a series of postures and movements. Classes end with a lovely final relaxation. The pace and intensity of the class will depend on the level and style of the class. Please see instructors and class descriptions to find the right class for you.
