Awaken your birth power, balance effort with surrender and cultivate courage and inner strength as you prepare for the divine plan of your life to unfold. Be a co-creator in your own birth as you learn to trust your body's wisdom. Prenatal yoga will empower you and give you the tools to cope with pregnancy discomforts and labor pain. Through centering, movement and breath, you will leave feeling calm, confident, refreshed and deeply connected to your baby.
Linking yoga postures with the breath will lead you to new discoveries, bringing awareness to the mind, body and spirit and also the spirit of your baby. These classes, practiced in a calm and peaceful environment, will help strengthen the uterus and pelvic muscles, improve circulation, aid in digestion, exercise the spine and increase overall comfort. Class postures will include: gentle warm up; standing postures to encourage leg and pelvic floor strength and endurance; balance postures, which can be practiced at the wall, to strengthen core muscles and assist in focus and concentration; hip openers to aid in keeping muscles around the pelvic area strong but flexible; restorative postures to help the whole body to relax as well as allowing time for breath work and visualization; and final resting pose to allow the integration of the practice and space to just be. All levels of yoga experience and all trimesters of pregnancy welcome.
