About the Studio
Laughing Buddha is the only traditional yoga studio in Mill Creek dedicated to the 8-limbed path of yoga. We offer many styles and levels of classes in a safe and non-competitive environment. All of our instructors are committed to upholding the time honored values of yoga and sharing those with our students. We are passionate about the healing, balancing, strengthening and restorative benefits of yoga. We offer a balanced selection of classes including Vinyasa, Hatha, Ashtanga, Restorative, Yin, meditation, private and specialized classes, as well as special events and workshops. We will soon be adding pre-natal and children's yoga as well as yoga for athletes. A variety of class levels accommodates the needs of all students. Classes focus on Asana (postures) with attention to alignment, and incorporate basic breath work and meditation techniques, with some classes designed to be safe for people with or recovering from injuries. Please see class descriptions for the style and level of class that is right for you. Beginners are in a safe environment to learn, while more advanced practitioners will have ample opportunity to deepen their practice.
Laughing Buddha continues to offer Karma Classes (either free or at a donation rate as stated on schedule) to insure yoga is available to all who are interested in maintaining a practice regardless of their ability to pay.
The practice room is heated 73 to 78 degrees. This is a perfect temperature for warming the muscles and ligaments to prepare for deeper postures and building body heat, without overheating or potential for overstretching.
Special community events at Laughing Buddha include Kirtan with singer Steve Gold, Acroyoga with Lux & Dawn, Yoga Pajama Parties and other classes for kids, along with Workshops by world-renowned yoga master Anand Mehrota. We also offer local and international yoga retreats. In April 2011, teachers and students from Laughing Buddha will travel to Rishikesh India, the birthplace of yoga, for our second annual immersion retreat.
